ESCAPING THE MIDDLE EAST

THE TIME HAS COME

TPATH REMARKS

December 21, 2018

During the last presidential campaign Donald Trump talked about the wasted money and the squandered lives being spent in the Middle East.  Decades upon decades of strife, death, lost limbs and family misery have abounded. And for what?

That part of the world will never see peace. Its Mullahs and despots will never live in harmony with their neighbors. Even if that long dreamed of Islamic Caliphate succeeds in eliminating Christians and all other religions, their lust for bloodshed will never be sated. They will continue the slaughter. It will then be their own people who are attacked and murdered for infractions or minor differences in interpretations of the word of the Prophet.

After 17 years in Afghanistan and almost as many in Iraq as well as dozens of other boundless sand dune regions, formed of blood and wretchedness, what has America gained? Nothing! Even those we are there to protect, are mired in endless hatred. They hate our people. They hate our culture. They hate our God. They hate each other.

What has America gained or even more importantly, what could be possibly gained by continuing to sacrifice more of our precious young men and women by feeding them into that never ending grinder of human flesh, we call the Middle East?

Many have said if we pull out of those hell holes America’s credibility in the world will be lost in that we will be backing away from our commitment to leaders, despots and murderers.  Are not 4 decades of commitment enough? Does this commitment need to go on for another 10years, 100 years, a 1000 years?

No! No more. Enough is enough. It is time they committed to peace and liberty for themselves. America’s commitment, though filled with unselfish sacrifice and bravery, has failed. Why? Because only God can fix that mess.  We tried, we really did. It is time to escape.

Having said all of the above, America cannot posture a blind eye to the fact that our departure will open up areas for vile opportunists and terror groups. That is why America needs to set, in stone, an Anti-Terrorist Doctrine.  It has to be made known to the world, enforced with vigor and with no exceptions. It has to be simple and understood by all.

Here it is: Any country that harbors, supports or allows terrorist groups to operate within its borders and if that group commits a terror attack on America, American interests or American citizens, our Navy and our Air Force will demolish the infrastructure of that country. This will include bridges, highways, railways and military installations. After that work has been completed, not one dollar will be sent to help the recovery and no American soldier will set foot in that land to help. If the attacked country chooses to rebuild and then once again harbor terrorists, we will be back.

This doctrine will no doubt have to be implemented once. But once will do the trick.

Fore sure America does have some friends in the Middle East that need our help. The Kurds whom have always been allies with America, Jordan and Lebanon which are less radical and of course, there is Israel.

We should provide for them every support they need to combat terrorism or lawless countries seeking to destroy them. This shall include funding, arms, material, equipment and technology. It shall not include America soldiers fighting on the ground or the alley ways of grimy villages. Never again!
