WHY THEY MUST PAY

The seditious acts perpetrated upon Donald Trump by the Deep State, which were comprised of most if not all of the “alphabet” US security agencies, have been exposed to such an extent that no one can honestly think otherwise.

While these underhanded, illegal and scurrilous endeavors have created certain amounts of elation for those on the left and solidified both moderates and conservatives into stronger support for our President, it has created a great danger for our country.

If you are thinking that danger threatens our Democratic Republic and the Constitutional rights of millions of Americans, you would be spot on. But the seriousness of this activity has implications far beyond what these rogues could perpetrate on individuals.

As the IG report began exposing the corruption perpetrated by the leadership of the FBI, CIA, NSA and a few other agencies which are supposed to be the protectors of the American system, the anger of many has manifested in rhetoric demanding that those behind this atrocious enterprises be punished. The thinking is that these people must pay a price for undermining our President and interfering with the implementation of his (our) policies. This is for sure required but the need for punishment goes deeper than that. Much deeper.

These crimes could very well put Americans and America in severe danger from Islamic terrorism. Why is that? If those seditionists are not punished and even if they are just moderately so, the Patriot Act and the FISA process will be in danger of being expunged or weakened into uselessness.

The Patriot Act of 1994 strengthened the FISA capabilities which were originally enacted under President Carter in 1976. Then after 9-11 even more power was given to the capabilities of the Patriot Act and thereby those people who were entrusted with using it for the sole purpose of protecting America.

Many of us, at every advancement of this law, from its inception to today, hated the concept and unconstitutional aspect of it. But alas, because of the horrific atrocities Muslim fanatics were not just capable of doing but fully intended to do, we accepted it and hoped and prayed that those in charge of this immense power, would be honorable. As it turns out, not so much.

We all know now what many knew then. Hoping for bureaucratic integrity is a very dangerous thing. There should have been severe and mandatory punishment for anyone who uses the application of the Patriot Act, backed and empowered by the might and force of the Federal Government, for political or financial benefit.

If the FISA process in particular and the Patriot Act in general are weakened or all together voided, there is no way to deny that our country will once again be placed into the gun sights of Islam. And any terrorist activity which results will be the direct fault of those persons which caused the demise of the agent which has kept us relatively safe since 9-11.

There is only one way to amend the Patriot Act so that it continues to help keep us safe. That is by implementing severe penalties for the abuse of it. The only way Americans will once again have faith in that system is if those who have used it illegally against Trump and his supporters are sent to prison for a long time.

But that is not enough.  New penalties must make it so very costly that no one would consider violating it again. Any violator of the law regarding the FISA operation or the Patriot Act must be imprisoned for 20 years and fined $1,000,000. This must be mandatory and both the citizenry and the bureaucrats must be convinced the price for misuse will be severe and hold no exceptions.

This must be done if we are to be safe from the terrorism of fanatical Islam and the ideological psychopaths of institutional elites. If those who are responsible for the sedition of the past few years are not punished, how can we ever trust it will not happen again? We can’t.

If new stronger penalties are not implemented, how can we trust it won’t happen again? We can’t.

If we lose the ability to watch terrorists, how can we be safe? We can’t
